My Top 10 Go-To Snacks

Everyone loves a good afternoon snack, and for good reason — they give you energy to keep you going and help keep you full until dinner. I find that having an afternoon snack decreases my tendency to overeat at dinner, too, so it’s a win-win situation. I eat a snack every day between 3 pm and 5 pm depending on how my body feels. No day is the same, but that’s what keeps it exciting!

The key here is to listen to what your body needs (and when!) and fill it with nutritious foods. I make sure to have plenty of snack options in my pantry, fridge and even in my bag for when I’m on-the-go. I get asked all the time what the best snack options are, so I rounded up some of my favorite healthy, filling and delicious options for you.

Here are my top 10 favorite snacks:

  1. Apple (or carrots and celery) with peanut butter

  2. Veggies (such as cucumbers, bell peppers, and jicama) with hummus

  3. Veggies (such as tomatoes, mushrooms, and baby carrots) with homemade guacamole (¼ avocado + ¼ lemon, juiced + sea salt)

  4. Baked butternut squash fries (or baked sweet potato) topped with peanut butter (or almond butter) and cinnamon

  5. So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Yogurt with berries or banana

  6. Fruit (such as berries, banana, or apple) and nuts (such as cashews, almonds, and walnuts)

  7. Lärabar (my favorite flavor is Coconut Cream Pie)

  8. Lundberg Brown Rice Cakes with almond butter, cacao nibs, and unsweetened coconut flakes

  9. Simple Mills Crackers or Mary’s Gone Crackers with a dip (such as hummus, guacamole, or salsa)

  10. Shelled edamame with sea salt or Seapoint Farms Dry-Roasted Edamame
