Black Bean & Chickpea Burgers

Ingredients

  • ½ cup chickpeas

  • ½ cup black beans

  • ¼ quick oats

  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • Spices to taste (salt, pepper, paprika, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, onion powder)

Instructions

  1. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray.

  2. Drain and rinse the black beans and chickpeas then add to a large bowl and mash with a fork.

  3. Blend the oats in a blender then add the blended oats to the large bowl.

  4. Add flaxseed, olive oil, and lots of spices and mix well.

  5. Form into 2 patties and cook over medium heat (with the glass lid on) for about 5 minutes on each side.

  6. Enjoy on a salad, with a burger bun, or with cauliflower sandwich thins!
