Building the Perfect Yogurt Bowl
We all love a nutrient-dense yogurt bowl, right?
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m a big fan. I always tell people to build them with protein, healthy fats, fruit, fiber, and superfoods to help keep you satisfied and full. That way, you’ll be able to get through your morning tasks without feeling fatigued and hungry.
Follow these steps to have your own delicious and nutritious yogurt bowl. Once you have one, I promise you’ll want to make one every day.
Step 1: Pick your base.
First thing’s first: Make sure any nut milk or yogurt you buy is unsweetened. If it’s sweetened, it probably contains added, unnecessary sugars! I’ll always get plain yogurt and later add my own fruit. You’ll also want to look out for sugars in the ingredients, such as cane sugar, juice concentrate, and fruit pectin. These are some of my favorites:
Unsweetened Coconut Yogurt (such as So Delicious & Cocojune)
Plant-Based Yogurt (such as Lavva)
Plain Greek Yogurt (such as siggi's)
Step 2: Add fruit.
Strawberries
Raspberries
Blueberries
Blackberries
Banana
Mangoes
Step 3: Add healthy fats, seeds, superfoods, and more fiber!
Almond Butter
Peanut Butter
Cashews
Walnuts
Almonds
Cacao Nibs
Coconut Flakes
Shelled Hemp Seeds
Ground Flaxseed
Chia Seeds
Pumpkin Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Step 4: This part is optional, but you can’t go wrong with adding some extra toppings! I like purely elizabeth or Superfood Cinnamon Superfood Granola and ground cinnamon. I’m a big fan of cinnamon not only because it’s delicious, but also because it has tons of health benefits and is loaded with antioxidants.
